This paper explores the ways in wich rural workers get organized in order to distribute water irrigation in a semi arid region of Venezuela. It is based on a theoretical as well as a methodological social constructionist aproach. To do so it presents a historical review of water legislation and aparticularly dicusses the rol of water juris figure, elected by agricultural workers, as part of a 150 year tradition in the Quibor’s Valley of Venezuela. This work aims to constribute to the studies in social psychology within rural areas.
