This experience report addresses the intertwining of public mental health policies and solidarity economy. To map psychosocial aspects that support the promotion of mental health by work an embroidery group was monitored in an income-generating workshop that belongs to the psychosocial care network and the Brazilian Unified Health System. The developed path, based on a cartographic perspective, enabled us to think about psychosocial elements that characterized it as an emancipatory space: dialogic ambience, doing-with, the construction of shared knowledge, self-management and the authorship of the group of workshop participants. Furthermore, given the need for literature in psychology articulating health production and solidarity economy, especially in times of neoliberal strengthening, intervention possibilities are highlighted in a psychology that tensions and resignifies work as a field of ethical, aesthetic, and political subjectivation.
