BARRAL, Daniel de Castro e ZANELLO, Valeska. The studies of masculinities in brazilian psychology: from the invisibility of the critic to the critic of the invisibility. Rev. psicol. polít. [online]. 2021, vol.21, n.52, pp.672-688. ISSN 2175-1390.
The present work carried out an analysis of the discourse of a documentary corpus assembled from a systematic review of the literature on masculinities within the field of psychologies in Brazil, based on the platforms "IndexPsi Periódicos Técnico-Científicos", "IndexPsi Divulgação Científica", "PePSIC", "LILACS" and "SciELO", carried out between June and December 2018. Within this field, three themes were identified: "Health", "Violence against women" and "Representations". In all three themes, it was possible to observe the transversal appearance of the assertion that men are invisible, ignored or disregarded. Male invisibility was analyzed as an organizing statement of a certain slice of the discursive production of Brazilian psychological science, which has used or referenced the studies of masculinities. Possible political and epistemological effects were considered.
