This article aims to transversalize the concept of disability by relating it to social exclusions and the possibilities of Affective Sponsorship experienced in capoeiraacademia, worked on in a PhD thesis. Informal affective sponsorship compounded the multiple experienced by capoeira participants, inspiring a process of mestizo writing, marked by borderline states of existence. The spiral of mestizos was formed by the agglutination of three wheels: Foundlings Wheel, Capoeira wheel and Academia wheel. The theoretical reference is “Borderlands: the new mestiza”, by Gloria Anzaldúa. The process of Informal Affective Sponsorship proved to be a life-affirming strategy created a new perspective on affective sponsorship in cases of disability.
