MORAES, MARCIA OLIVEIRA; HOLANDA, ANA RAQUEL; VALE, GISLANA MONTE  e  SOUZA, OLGA MARIA TAVARES DE. Women, political bodies and subjectivities: social model of disability and activism. Rev. psicol. polít. [online]. 2024, vol.24, e24415.  Epub 23-Ago-2024. ISSN 2175-1390.  https://doi.org/10.5935/2175-1390.v24e24415.

This article aims to present the meanings of the political body of disability that we have been building and elaborating together in a training course that was carried out based on the reading and discussion of a work by Lígia Amaral, a Brazilian psychologist and woman with disability. The conception and proposition of the training course came from the social movement of blind and visually impaired women to the university, which leads us to affirm that the social movement of women with visual impairments produces knowledge on a daily basis, through their activism, struggles and partnerships with universities. Thus, taking as a backdrop the perspective of the social model of disability, we provide a brief history of the social feminist movement of blind women and then propose some meanings for the political body of disability that we have constructed in articulation with the contributions by Ligia Amaral.
