Abstract

ROMANINI, MOISES. Who are we sheltering? Drug use and user sheltering for women and lgbtqia+ people. Rev. psicol. polít. [online]. 2024, vol.24, e23243.  Epub Aug 23, 2024. ISSN 2175-1390.  https://doi.org/10.5935/2175-1390.v24e23243.

This manuscript aims to reflect on the sheltering people who use drugs from the perspective of gender and sexual diversity studies. The research is of a qualitative nature, it was carried out with the Technical Area of Mental Health, a Psychosocial Care Center for Alcohol and other Drugs (CAPS AD) and a Street Clinic’s team of a health network in the southern region of Brazil. Observations were carried out in the daily services, writing field diaries, narrative interviews with users and professionals and discussion groups with professionals. In the careful re-reading the materials produced from the research, three elements stood out as central for further deepening and discussion: the user reception of women in CAPS AD; gender relations and motherhood on the streets; and sexual and gender diversity.

Keywords : User Sheltering; Drugs; Gender; Sexuality; Mental Health.
