ROSA, Leandro Amorim  e  SANDOVAL, Salvador Antonio Mireles. Political praxis in brazilian student occupations in 2015 and 2016. Rev. psicol. polít. [online]. 2024, vol.24, e24850.  Epub 26-Ago-2024. ISSN 2175-1390.  https://doi.org/10.5935/2175-1390.v24e24452.

Student occupations whose general agenda defended public education and were organized in an self-managed manner marked the years 2015 and 2016 in Brazil. This article aims to address dimensions of the political praxis of young people during student occupations in São Paulo in those years. The empirical research corpus was constructed through focus groups, interviews and participant observations with students from four Brazilian cities in the state of São Paulo. In addition to the political praxis category, references from political psychology supported the corpus analysis. Based on the empirical material, the supposed spontaneity of the movements is discussed, as well as the process of taking over spaces, organization and leadership. It is understood that the political praxis of the young people covered in the research had significant creative, reflective and multitudinous traits. Finally, it is evident that, even in the face of difficulties, wear and tear, and limits, the gains arising from political praxis occurred in material, but also relational and organizational.
