Abstract

CROCHIK, JOSÉ LEON. Pseudo-culture and the individual development of violence. Rev. psicol. polít. [online]. 2024, vol.24, e25014.  Epub Dec 20, 2024. ISSN 2175-1390.  https://doi.org/10.5935/2175-1390.v24e25014.

The aim of this essay is to expose the signs of the relationship between distinct forms of political regimes, the culture that these regimes transform into pseudo-culture, and the development of individuals who, without real objects to establish their ties with others and with the world, tend to manifest different forms of violence, giving vent to their destructive impulses toward what they consider to be responsible for their exclusion from socially legitimated social relations. Concepts and analyzes developed by Freud, Horkheimer, Adorno and Arendt will be presented to achieve this objective.

Keywords : Authoritarianism; Prejudice; Bullying; Totalitarianism; Democracy.
