OLIVEIRA, Leonardo de; CRUZ, Lilian Rodrigues da y LARA, Lutiane de. Pilgrim of the galaxies – the creation of the self as art and homeless people. Rev. psicol. polít. [online]. 2025, vol.25, e25240. Epub 01-Dic-2025. ISSN 2175-1390. https://doi.org/10.5935/2175-1390.v25e25240.
This article examines how homeless people encounter public policies, as well as the role of art and culture in the care and constitution of the self as a work of art among this population, who, within this mapped universe, identify themselves as pilgrims. Based on a cartographic bricolage between self-care, decoloniality, and science fiction, the aim is to propose a journey using a UFO method, which travels through scenes and images, accompanied by the interlocution of characters such as the pilgrim Arlindo. Characters, scenes, and concepts are (re)imagined from the perspective of self-production, revealing the necessary conceptual and decolonial twists in Foucault’s vision of self-care, in a Latin American context and the homelessness in Porto Alegre, which points towards an ethical, aesthetic and political possibility of world-building based on the “pilgrim art of the self”.
