This work is constructed through “escrevivência”, a term coined by Conceição Evaristo, understood here as a methodology that presents itself as a possibility for a memory-writing that is both self-made and collective. The text explores a psychology training experience , interweaving memories of the author’s process of becoming black, leading to the emergence of the “Coletivo PretasPsi”, a collective initially composed of black women psychology undergraduates and psychologists. From this, analyzes of some of the colonial epistemologies that are present in Brazilian psychology and its permanence as racist knowledge are developed. The epistemicide and Eurocentrism present in psychology training are questioned, as well as the stagnation in the face of these findings. To point a way forward, we consider the subversion of established knowledge through decoloniality and “aquilombamento”, both operating as strategies of political resistance.
