TORRES, Daniel Roberto Vega. Institutionalization of craftwork: social class and cultural identification in France and Brazil. Semin., Ciênc. Soc. Hum. [online]. 2019, vol.40, n.1, pp.103-120. ISSN 1679-0383.
The objective of this article is the comparative analysis of the institutionalization of craftwork in the countries of Brazil and France. In this sense, it presents a comparative social reflection of two trajectories of the institutionalization of the crafts in different social, cultural and labor conditions in the process of the development of the capital. The first part explains the definition of craftwork and the technical, symbolic and social dimensions that constitute the object of the research. In the second part, the methodology of analysis of comparative study of the countries is presented, based on the multigroup analysis model. The results show the institutionalization of craftwork in both countries, explaining the process of differentiation in the dimensions of cultural identity, social class and the classification of occupations. Finally, a reflection is made on the problems of differentiation and homogenization of craftwork in globalization.
