VICTORIA, Mara Sizino da e SOARES, Adriana Benevides. The Evaluation of the Implicit Association Test in a sample of students of Psychology. Psic [online]. 2008, vol.9, n.2, pp.211-218. ISSN 1676-7314.
The proposal of this study was to analyze the temporal stability of the Implicit Association Test-Anxiety (IAT-Anxiety) performing the test-retest correlation and the reliability method. The test was administered twice to 51 students of Psychology, with an interval of one week between the applications (short-term stability). The internal consistence coefficient (Cronbach's alpha) of the test and retest were compared. Also, the IAT-Anxiety correlations were compared using two other measures of self-evaluation: The State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI) and Beck's Anxiety Inventory (BAI). The results shown then Cronbach's alpha varying from 0,73 to 0,87, a significant correlation between the test and the retest, and a feeble correlation between 0,06 and 0,11 for the IAT, the STAI-T and the BAI. The results were also submitted to factor analysis by using both the Parallel Analysis Program and the MAP - Minimum Average Partial, which identified two dimenstions: self-reference and anxiety.
