Abstract

OLIVEIRA, Angela Santos de; FERREIRA, Maria Cristina; MARTINS, Leonardo Fernandes  and  MOURAO, Luciana. Psychometric Properties of the Agility in the Face of Organizational Changes Scale. Aval. psicol. [online]. 2023, vol.22, n.2, pp.196-205.  Epub Aug 23, 2024. ISSN 1677-0471.  https://doi.org/10.15689/ap.2023.2202.22885.09.

The present study sought initial evidence of internal structure validity and of the relationship with external variables for the Agility in the face of Organizational Changes Scale in Brazilian samples. Study participants were 494 workers (53% female), with ages varying between 22 and 74 years (M=45.5; SD =9.2). Exploratory Factor Analysis suggested the retention of a single factor, with five items and factor loadings ranging from .53 to .80. The same occurred with Confirmatory Factor Analysis, which presented satisfactory fit indices. The scale showed a high positive correlation with acceptance of change and openness to experience and a weak negative correlation with skepticism towards change. Therefore, it can be considered an appropriate measure for the assessment of individual agility in the face of organizational change. The scale can be used in research and in organizational diagnoses, with the construct best interpreted including other variables of the work and personal contexts.

Keywords : individual agility; organizational change; validity test; employee attitude.
