Properly assessing well-being is crucial for understanding its impact on health, particularly in individuals who deal with high-risk and stressful situations in their professions. This study aimed to investigate evidence of the validity of an instrument to assess well-being from the PERMA model for a sample of public security professionals. Participants were 11,004 public security agents from the five regions of Brazil. The PERMA five-factor structure presented a good fit to the data, with the exclusion of one item, as well as adequate reliability coefficients. Evidence of validity with other measures was observed based on correlations between the PERMA-Profiler-Brazil factors and quality of life variables and psychopathological dimensions. It was concluded that this measure presents favorable indicators of validity and reliability for assessing the well-being of Brazilian public security agents.
