This historical article, theoretical in nature, aims to discuss the contributions of the National Association for Research and Graduate Studies in Psychology (ANPEPP) to the field of Psychological Assessment (PA) through its Research Groups (RG). The article examines ANPEPP’s main proposals for Brazilian research, with a specific focus on PA, and highlights the key achievements from their collaborative efforts, such as the creation of the Brazilian Institute of Psychological Assessment, the launch of the Journal of Psychological Assessment, and the development of the Psychological Test Assessment System. The article also addresses the integration and partnerships among researchers, laboratories, and universities across the country, as well as the division of Working Groups (WGs) and the expansion of research topics. In conclusion, it emphasizes the importance of public policies in consolidating the development of psychological science in Brazil, noting that these joint efforts have led to significant advances in Brazilian psychological assessment.
