This study aimed to evaluate the psychometric quality of three instruments, namely: the questionnaire of academic perceptions, expectations version, the questionnaire of adaptation to higher education, and the scale of academic involvement, analyzing the constructs of expectation, adaptation, and academic involvement of students of the 1st year of Brazilian higher education. Different student samples were used to analyze the validity and reliability of each instrument. The confirmatory factor analysis results confirmed good fit indices of the instruments to the original dimensional structure, suggesting in some cases better validity indices if some items were eliminated, as in the factors of the scale of involvement. The reliability indices of the factors were also above the parameters predicted in the literature. The results contribute to scientific advancement in the area of psychological assessment, as they demonstrate evidence of validity based on the internal structure of the three instruments aimed at the academic trajectory in higher education.
