OLIVEIRA, Vinícius Figueiredo de; MARTINS, Jéssica Vial e LOPES-SILVA, Júlia Beatriz. Rereading Reading Tests: Stimuli Analysis to Assess Dyslexia Subtypes. Aval. psicol. [online]. 2024, vol.23, n.1, pp.13-22. Epub 02-Dez-2024. ISSN 1677-0471. https://doi.org/10.15689/ap.2024.2301.22021.02.
Brazilian reading tests are designed to assess reading disabilities, but not dyslexia subtypes. In this paper, stimuli of 6 commercialized Brazilian reading tests (TDE, TDE II, ANELE 1, ANELE 4, PROLEC, PROADE) were investigated to identify stimuli sensitive for the identification of 7 dyslexia subtypes (letter identity, letter position, neglect, visual, surface, vowel, and deep). Potential stimuli for all these subtypes were found, once error analysis was performed. Despite the presence of these sensitive stimuli, there is no proposal for error analysis for identifying dyslexia subtypes in the test manuals. For an accurate diagnosis, it is necessary to develop sensitive tests for the analyzed subtypes.
