This study presents the procedures of translating and transcultural adaptation of the Pictorial Personality Traits Questionnaire for Children (PPTQ-C) for the Brazilian Portuguese, giving that there were no other instruments similar to it. The study was divided in two stages, content validity and pilot study. Ten experts assessed the adequacy and the translation of the items. Eleven children assessed the pictorial stimuli of the PPTQ-C. A total of 45 children took part of the pilot study (mean age=6.82 years SD=0.69; 60% girls). Results suggests acceptable content validity indices’ (in general, CCV>.80). Pictures that were not recognized by the children were modified. In the pilot study, initial evidence of structural validity and reliability were found. More studies are needed to deeply investigate other evidences of validity for the PPTQ-C. The questionnaire could be used to assess children’s personality traits.
