Violence against women and girls constitutes a serious public health issue in Brazil and worldwide. Studies suggest that gender-related attitudes and beliefs endorsing violence among adolescents may contribute to the perpetuation of this phenomenon. The Attitudes Towards Gender and Violence Questionnaire, originally developed in Spain, was designed to investigate these constructs in adolescents. This study aimed to adapt the questionnaire for the Brazilian context by examining its psychometric properties, including construct validity through exploratory and confirmatory analyses, and assessing its associations with ambivalent sexism. The research was conducted with 550 adolescents, with a mean age of 17 years ( SD =1 year). The Brazilian version of the questionnaire demonstrated a unifactorial structure, with a Cronbach’s alpha of .95, an omega value of .88, and composite reliability of .96. External validity evidence revealed moderate to strong positive relationships between the instrument and the dimensions of hostile and benevolent sexism. In conclusion, the instrument is deemed suitable for use in the Brazilian context.
