BEZERRA, Viviane Alves dos Santos; GALVAO, Lilian Kelly de Sousa; SAMPAIO, Leonardo Rodrigues  e  CAMINO, Cleonice Pereira dos Santos. Gatekeeper Self-Efficacy Scale: analysis of psychometric properties. Aval. psicol. [online]. 2024, vol.23, n.4, pp.437-446.  Epub 16-Dez-2024. ISSN 1677-0471.  https://doi.org/10.15689/ap.2024.2304.07.

This research sought to adapt and validate the Gatekeeper Self-Efficacy Scale (GKSES) for the Brazilian context. After content validity analysis, 448 subjects (76.8% women; Mage =33.94; SD =14.80) responded to the GKSES, the New General Self-efficacy, and the Suicide Helpfulness Scale for the analysis of psychometric properties. The exploratory factor analysis results corroborated the original single-factor structure, which explained 69.57% of the variance. The GKSES convergent validity indicators were observed, and reliability analyses showed that the measure has satisfactory internal consistency (Composite Reliability=.91; ω=.90). It was concluded that the GKSES has adequate psychometric characteristics for the Brazilian context and can be used in research that seeks to engage the general population in primary suicide prevention actions.
