Brazil faces significant educational challenges, notably the high school dropout rate. Accordingly, this study aimed to investigate individual (I), family (F), and school (S) factors related to this phenomenon in primary and secondary education. A total of 104,011 students from the fifth and ninth grades of primary school and the third year of secondary education school in state public schools in the Southeast region of Brazil participated in the study. Sociodemographic data were collected, as well as information regarding professional interests (I), school violence (S), and domestic violence (F). Three models were developed capable of predicting dropout with 68% accuracy for the fifth grade, 58% for the ninth grade, and 59% for the third year. Variables such as parental satisfaction with the school, family income, school attendance period, and performance in mathematics emerged as the main contributing factors. This study provides crucial information for combating school dropout and formulating public policies to retain students in schools.
