Sexual stigma is a form of social stigma against people who are perceived to be non-heterosexual because of their beliefs, identities or behaviors. As a result, prejudice and discrimination can trigger risks to the mental and physical health of stigmatized women. No instruments for measuring sexual stigma were identified for Brazilian self-identified lesbians, bisexuals and non-binaries. This study produced the Scale of Sexual Stigma among Lesbian, Bisexual + Women Brazilian. 313 women over 18 years of age, of different ethnicities and social conditions participated. The unrestricted Exploratory Factor Analysis revealed a structure of three factors consistent with theoretical expectations: Existing, Internalized and Sensed Sexual Stigmas. The internal consistency coefficients showed evidence of reliability and the Regression Analysis, of criterion validity. This new instrument of sexual stigma can contribute to research and health promotion for this population of women.
