This study aimed to translate the Cultural Competence Scale (EMCC-14) into Portuguese and evaluate its factor validity and internal consistency in a sample of Brazilian healthcare providers. The study included 213 healthcare providers from various regions, professional backgrounds, and healthcare levels, with 73.7% being female and a mean age of 37.9 years (SD=10.4). The translation and adaptation processes were followed by Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) and Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA). Internal consistency was assessed using Cronbach's Alpha. Three factors were retained, explaining 65.0% of the variance. Bartlett's sphericity test=1857.4, df=91, p<.001; KMO=.895, RMSEA=.044 and CFI=.993. The CFA results indicated a strong model fit: CFI=.99; TLI=.99, SRMR=.06, and RMSEA=.053. The Cronbach's alpha for the overall scale was .86, with factorspecific internal consistency ranging from .73 to .79. The Portuguese version of the EMCC-14 (EMCC14-BR) demonstrated good psychometric performance, comparable to or exceeding the original version of the scale. It is a valuable instrument for studying Cultural Competence in Latin American countries.
