Time Perspective is a topic that has been little explored and measured in Psychology, especially given the accelerated aging process and the importance of mature workers balancing their past, present, and future expectations when considering retirement planning. This study aimed to present additional evidence of validity for the Zimbardo Time Perspective Inventory – ZTPI, with 511 mature Brazilian workers – 45 years of age or over – from a Brazilian company. Exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses revealed 37 items grouped into five factors: negative past, positive past, future, fatalistic present, and hedonistic present, with internal consistency (α) of .82, .66, .68, .77, and .78, respectively. The relationship with the organization, economic situation, and perceived health correlated significantly with the three dimensions of the ZTPI: negative past, hedonistic present, and future. Further studies on retirement planning using the ZTPI are needed.
