KOLTERMANN, Gabriella et al. Checklist of shared routines and family-school involvement: Shortened versions and psychometric evidence. Aval. psicol. [online]. 2025, vol.24, e24700. Epub 15-Set-2025. ISSN 1677-0471. https://doi.org/10.15689/ap.2025.24.e24700.
The study aimed to develop shortened versions of a checklist instrument for shared routines and family-school involvement, one from the perspective of mothers and another from the perspective of Brazilian teachers, and to examine the evidence of reliability and validity for the new versions. The version for mothers/fathers/legal guardians involved 302 mothers of children attending grades 1 to 8 of elementary education in public schools. The version for teachers involved 40 elementary education teachers from public schools, composing a total sample of 177 families evaluated. Both shortened versions of the instrument demonstrated adequate reliability indices (KR-20), as well as evidence of validity. The degree of shared routine and parent-school involvement presented associations with the school year and the mother’s level of education. The psychometric refinement of the checklist and the development of its shortened versions allow for the expansion of objective parameters regarding shared routines and family-school involvement in the country, which in turn can guide the main focus of investments for different stakeholders in Basic Education.
