The House-Tree-Person Drawing Technique is a graphic projective method that evaluates aspects of personality and is widely used by psychologists in their professional performance. This research aimed to investigate how professionals use the test, regarding the application, correction, interpretation, contexts of use, main objective and target audience. To this end, an online questionnaire was conducted with 191 psychologists from the five Brazilian regions, aged between 22 and 71 (M=41.16 and SD = 1.92), ofwhich 83% were female. The results indicated failures in the management of the test by some professionals, related to the context of use and objective; in addition to the application and interpretation without support of the manual and the non-use of the survey after the drawing. Taking into account the fact that the test is constantly taught at the undergraduate level and used in professional practice, the need for more attention to be paid to the training of psychologists in psychological assessment is discussed.
