MARTINS, Tafnes Varela et al. Adaptation and Evidence of Validity for the Gendered Racial Microaggressions Scale. Aval. psicol. [online]. 2025, vol.24, n.spe1, e25456. Epub 05-Set-2025. ISSN 1677-0471. https://doi.org/10.15689/ap.2025.24.e25456.
The intersection of racism and sexism shapes distinct experiences of discrimination for Black women, differing from those experienced by Black men or White women. These experiences are referred to as gendered racial microaggressions. This study aimed to adapt and examine the factorial structure of the Gendered Racial Microaggressions Scale for the Brazilian context. A total of 483 Black women responded to the scale and a sociodemographic questionnaire. The results supported the adequacy of a unifactorial structure and demonstrated satisfactory reliability indices. The scale proved to be a useful instrument for assessing gendered racial microaggressions in Brazil. Identifying such experiences may contribute to the development of interventions to mitigate and combat this form of discrimination.
