This study aimed to adapt the Protocol for Assessing Minority Stress (PEM) for the T population and to gather validity evidence for the instrument (PEGM-T-BR) based on the internal structure, response processes, and relationship with external measures. Five experts in the field participated in the content validation, and 201 trans women participated in the analysis of the internal structure, which indicated satisfactory fit indices for the adapted instrument. In addition, 283 self-declared LGB individuals participated. The results indicated an adequate factor structure for the measure, higher scores for the trans women sample compared to the LGB group, and significant relationships with external measures such as Depression, Anxiety, and general Stress. Accordingly, the scale showed evidence of validity in a sample from a Brazilian context.
