FERNANDES, Iorhana Almeida; ZANINI, Daniela Sacramento e BORGES, Lenise Santana. Well-Being and Psychological Distress Among Adolescents: An Analysis from a Gender Perspective. Aval. psicol. Studies conducted with LGBTQIAPN+ populations indicate increased psychological distress and decreased positive resources compared to cisgender groups. However, there is a scarcity of research focusing on these phenomena among LGBTQIAPN+ adolescents. This study investigated these variables by comparing three groups: cisgender girls, cisgender boys, and non-binary, gender-fluid, and transgender individuals. The sample included 1,187 adolescents from various regions of the country. Analysis of variance, correlation tests, and multiple linear regression were employed to analyze the data. The results indicate that. gender nonconforming adolescents experience significantly higher psychological distress compared to cisgender groups and also score lower on positive resources. It is concluded that specific programs, public policies, and actions are needed for boys, girls, and gender-diverse individuals. The importance of theoretical models and psychological instruments sensitive to gender differences is highlighted to ensure fairness in psychological assessment and intervention.
