Sports play a crucial role in promoting the physical, mental, and social well-being of parathletes, contributing to their broader inclusion in society. This study aimed to investigate the well-being of parathletes through a systematic review, addressing: (a) the evaluation of well-being across different theoretical models; (b) the relationship between well-being and sports performance; and (c) the role of sports in confronting disability-related challenges and the significance of governmental policies for social inclusion. The review was conducted in the MEDLINE (via PubMed), Web of Science, Scopus, and SciELO databases using the terms “well-being” and “parathlete.” Studies examining the influence of well-being among parathletes were included. The initial search yielded 467 articles, of which nine met the criteria for final analysis. The most commonly used frameworks for well-being were hedonic and eudaimonic approaches. The review highlights the importance of public policies that promote accessibility and provide adequate support for parathletes.
