This study presents evidence of validity based on content, external and internal structure, and the relationships with external variables for the LGBTQIAPN+ People’s Psychological Distress Scale. A total of 493 LGBTQIAPN+ individuals, recruited via social media, participated. Participants were up to 34 years of age, with half holding a college degree. Data, analyzed through exploratory factor analysis, using principal axis factoring (PAF) extraction and Promax rotation, revealed a structure of 52 items distributed across eight factors. Cronbach’s alpha values ranged from .85 to .93 (Distress in LGBTQIAPN+ individuals, α=.93; Psychological impacts of LGBTQ-phobia on mental health, α=.94; Use of psychiatric medication, α=.88; Fear of rejection and violence, α=.89; Experiences of suffered violence, α=.93; Rejection and LGBTQ-phobia from friends, α=.86; Coping actions, α=.86; and Fear of family violence, α=.85). Psychometric properties, limitations, and recommendations are discussed.
