SOUZA, Maria Clara Guimarães e LIMA, Priscilla Melo Ribeiro de. IDENTITIES AND SPEECHES: THE DISCURSIVE CONSTRUCTION OF LESBIANΓTΎ. Psicol. rev. (Belo Horizonte) [online]. 2021, vol.27, n.2, pp.285-303. Epub 20-Jan-2025. ISSN 1677-1168. https://doi.org/10.5752/p.1678-9563.2021v27n2p285-303.
The heteronormative hegemonic discourse and its binary logic advocates a single acceptable way of being a woman and is based on the linearity between sexual practices, desire, biological sex, gender and sexuality. The experiences of lesbian women mothers are seen as inadequate, resulting in a conflictive position that generates psychological suffering. The analyzed data were generated from narrative interviews conducted with five lesbian women and mothers, of which only one will be analyzed. This type of in-depth interview enabled access to the experience of motherhood and sexuality and the investigation of the construction of the identity of a lesbian woman and mother in a heteronormative context. The data were analyzed according to studies in Social Psychology and some authors of the critical discourse analysis on identity, metamorphosis and discourse. Our research provided a place for listening and dialogue and made it possible to deepen the understanding of how the participant (re)meant her story in the face of lesbianity still occupying an invisibility space in contemporary society.
