DOURADO, Simone; STENGEL, Márcia; SILVA, Daniela Soares da  e  MACHADO, Isabel Maria Cristina Custodio Hervella. INNUMERABLE PROJECT: DIGITAL CULTURE, COVID-19 DEATHS, LIVES AND PEOPLE. Psicol. rev. (Belo Horizonte) [online]. 2021, vol.27, n.2, pp.552-569.  Epub 20-Jan-2025. ISSN 1677-1168.  https://doi.org/10.5752/p.1678-9563.2021v27n2p552-569.

This article aims to discuss dimensions of the qualification of the numbers of deaths by covid-19 told by the Project "Inumeráveis", observing narratives created for the moments of farewell. Through the analysis of some stories, from Maringá and Belo Horizonte, we seek to understand how losses are elaborated by a society that lives the health crisis in a context of the predominance of the digital culture and the dissemination of information at a fast pace due to the predominance of Digital Technologies in people's daily lives. The examples indicate that the feeling of loss and mourning is collectively experienced, even though it keeps a dimension of individual treatment, and needs to be communally elaborated so that preventable deaths are not repeated, since there are indications that if the management of the health crisis had received more attention and control from the public authorities, the outcome could have been less traumatic.
