This article presents the cut of a study that investigated the trajectories of black people who graduated and postgraduated in Psychology, discussing aspects related to the elaboration of a professional and life project, as well as career planning. Through the return to the research data, some excerpts from the recorded life stories are highlighted in order to point out the contributions of affirmative actions, which aim to promote the entry of black and brown students into Higher Education. Fragments of a tale constructed from the trajectories of the women who participated in the study are presented, methodologically structured by ethnographic and fictional strategies of production and analysis of narratives. As a result, it is highlighted that, among others, scholarships and quota policies made the schooling of the people heard possible, but the development of actions to increase the permanence and quality of the training of these subjects is still relevant.
