This article is about a study conducted in a hospital, which aimed to observe and analyze the effects of musical presentations on hospitalized children. After a bibliographic review, participant observation of musical presentations by the Saracura Group was carried out. Next, semi-structured interviews were conducted with musicians, nursing technicians and guardians. The results were classified into categories: positive opinions about music; positive reactions to music; negative reaction of the child to hospitalization; knowledge of the use of music in hospital environments; interaction mediated by music; and behavior of the hospitalized patient due to music. Using content analysis, the data between the responses of the participants in each group were crossed. The results generated discussion about the practice of music in hospitals as a promoter of affective-relational changes. Thus, it is concluded that music is an important instrument of hospital humanization, which allows relevant experiences to improve the quality of life of hospitalized children.
