Silence is a communicational aspect that occurs between the spaces of one spoken word to another, although this phenomenon exists, it is still little debated in the areas of academic training in Psychology. This study aimed to analyze the experiences of hospital psychology trainees in the face of silence in the setting. For this, a qualitative research was carried out through semi-structured interviews with eleven participants. Through data analysis, categories were organized, based on the demands presented by the interns after the interview: understanding silence, feelings about silence, managing silence and silence in the hospital context. The results pointed to the identification of silence in the setting, but gaps were observed in the management of this silence to be used by the trainees. Simultaneously, the data contributed to the expansion of theoretical-practical questions about how to deal with the element, silence, within a setting.
