Abstract

COSCIONI, Vinicius; ROSA, Edinete Maria; KOLLER, Sílvia Helena  and  DELL’AGLIO, Débora Dalbosco. Life projects and probations: A scoping review. Rev. bras. orientac. prof [online]. 2023, vol.24, n.2, pp.177-189.  Epub Oct 25, 2024. ISSN 1984-7270.  https://doi.org/10.26707/1984-7270/2023v24n0206.

This scoping review identified and synthesized the methodological features and main results of research studies that characterized the life projects (LPs) of young offenders under probations in Brazil. Searches in journals and thesis’ databases were made, yielding 24 research studies that assessed the LPs of young offenders under probations. All studies used qualitative methods. The results indicate that the young offenders’ LPs embraced education, work, and family concerns. However, their LPs were generally seen as unlinked to a plan of action. A few studies revealed LPs linked to the perpetration of offending behavior. The reduced frequency of crime-related LPs might be associated with a discourse of change forged by the need to omit information during probation.

Keywords : life project; juvenile delinquency; adolescent; institutionalized; literature review.
