Adaptation to the University is marked by stressful situations that can compromise the student's mental health. The study sought to identify the conception of students about academic situations considered anxiogenic and the strategies they use to deal with these. Seventeen students (M = 26.94 years) were recruited from the workshop on how to deal with anxiety. The data were obtained from the transcription of the participants' speeches and classified using a Lexicographic Analysis. The results indicated that students feel anxious mainly about performance in evaluations and interpersonal relationships with colleagues and authorities. Finally, it was possible to identify the importance of the interaction itself among students in coping with anxiety.
