The case study carried out at a private higher education institution analyzed the levels of Work Engagement (WE) among its employees. 118 workers answered a questionnaire with socio-professional data and the Utrecht Work Engagement Scale. The average level of WE was found and the dedication dimension had the highest average, which shows the perception of the meaning of work, inspiration and pride in the work activity performed. Workers in the professional development phase (between 29 and 39 years of age) showed higher WE when compared to the general population. The results support the proposal of people management practices focused on developing the well-being and strengthening the performance of workers.
