Abstract

MATOS, Fabíola Rodrigues  and  ANDRADE, Alexsandro Luiz De. Burnout in students: Brazilian Adaptation of Oldenburg Burnout Inventory – Student Version. Rev. bras. orientac. prof [online]. 2024, vol.25, n.1, pp.53-65.  Epub Sep 06, 2024. ISSN 1984-7270.  https://doi.org/10.26707/1984-7270/2024v25n0106.

Students who aim to enter higher education may face pressure in different contexts, which can lead to a stressful and even sickening period. The objective of this article was to seek evidence of validity and accuracy for the Oldenburg Burnout Inventory – Student Version (OLBI-S) in the Brazilian context. 2016 students participated, 79.1% women, average age 18.7 (SD = 3.16), from all regions of Brazil. The results indicated that the instrument presented validity and reliability indicators for a two-dimensional structure (exhaustion and disengagement). Converging evidence of the construct is presented with measures of anxiety, depression, stress, negative and positive affects. Theoretical and practical dimensions of using the instrument are discussed, as well as implications for health intervention in the context of the studies.
