The transition of university students to the job market is a critical phase that impacts their professional trajectories. This study examines the relationship between protean career orientation and success in the university-to-work transition in a sample of 594 recent graduates in Portugal. Using validated scales, four dimensions of success were assessed: professional insertion, career confidence, work adaptation, and financial independence. Results show that protean career orientation is a significant predictor of all analyzed dimensions, emphasizing the importance of proactive strategies in building successful careers.
