Abstract

BARCELLOS, Rebeca de Moraes Ribeiro de  and  TEIXEIRA, Marco Antônio Pereira. Career interventions for women: A narrative review. Rev. bras. orientac. prof [online]. 2025, vol.26, n.2, pp.255-265.  Epub Dec 08, 2025. ISSN 1984-7270.  https://doi.org/10.26707/1984-7270/2025v26n0210.

This narrative review sought to identify theoretical models, formats, techniques, and content employed in career interventions targeting young women, with the aim of informing initiatives directed at university students. A total of 67 articles were analyzed, revealing a predominance of in-person, group-based interventions consisting of 12 or more sessions. Common techniques included informational sessions, debates, mentoring, networking, the use of role models, individual activities, and career planning. The content focused on fostering gender awareness, developing skills to overcome barriers and advance professionally, and strengthening support networks. A lack of theoretical grounding was identified across the interventions analyzed. The findings offer valuable insights for the design of future practices and underscore the importance of a solid theoretical foundation in career interventions.
