This research aimed to understand how clinical psychology professionals handle the demand for the treatment of adult men who are victims of sexual abuse. The study adopted a qualitative and exploratory approach, involving the participation of five male psychologists and eight female psychologists working in clinical psychology with adults, who responded to a semi-structured interview. The interviews were subjected to lexical analysis using the IRAMUTEQ software. Four thematic classes were identified: 1) adopted professional practices; 2) difficulties related to training and lack of materials; 3) possible biases and 4) difficulty in acknowledging the violence on the part of male victims. The need for greater attention to the field in terms of research, the development of specific practices, and the improvement of training on the subject was evident.
