Society and work go through several social transformations over time. These impacts influences the physical, mental and emotional well-being of workers, causing psychological suffering. This research analyzed the work relationship in post-modernity and the triggering of psychological suffering. The methodological resources combine exploratory and bibliographical research, with a qualitative approach and the use of a narrative literature review. The results obtained demonstrate changes, both in organizations and individuals, which resulted in changes in the way of organization and management. As a consequence, there was an evolution in the frequency of illnesses in the workplace, causing related psychological suffering in its most diverse forms.
