The objective of this study was to identify mental health prevention and promotion strategies for police officers, available in the literature. This is a scoping review prepared in accordance with the guidelines of the Joanna Briggs Institute Reviewers (JBI) and PRISMA-ScR. The searches were carried out in the databases Medline/Pubmed, Scopus, Web of Science, Lilacs, Scielo, Embase, Google™ Scholar, Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations and CAPES Theses and Dissertations Portal. The focus was on prevention and promotion strategies with a objective on the mental health of police officers. 702 publications were identified. After the exclusion criteria, six articles remained for review. Among the interventions found, the importance of self-care, peer support and training programs were highlighted. It is necessary to implement policies, actions and services aimed at mental health care for police officers.
