FERRARI, Camila  y  SCORSOLINI-COMIN, Fabio. Mental Health and Psychoanalysis: An Approach Through Wilfred R. Bion's Theory of Thinking. Vínculo [online]. 2024, vol.21, e21005.  Epub 20-Ene-2025. ISSN 1806-2490.  https://doi.org/10.32467/issn.1982-1492v21na5.

The objective of this theoretical study is to reflect on possible ways to bring psychoanalysis closer to the field of mental health and its practices, inspired by Bionian perspectives. In this dialogue, we will use the Italian film "Si Può Fare" as a starting point. The movie is set during the period of asylum closures following the implementation of the Basaglia Law. Nello, the protagonist, allows patients to create ways to express their feelings, giving them a place in the world. This leads to the development of the patients' ability to think and cope with their frustrations. Unlike Nello, the role of the analyst would also involve providing a space to listen to the suffering of these individuals, beyond mere interventions. Considering that we live in a society dominated by the biomedical discourse, which seeks to categorize human suffering based on psychiatric criteria, the introduction of a new model for thinking within the field of mental health is necessary and urgent. From this perspective, the psychoanalyst within the institution tries to find a place where it is possible to work beyond the medical discourse, aiming to see the person in their full complexity so that they can exist in a more humanized way.
