The objective of this article is, to stand out some itens, between many others, about the first interview of the psychotherapeutic process, arouse the therapist’s curiosity and making easy the discussion about this special moment of the therapeutical process and its influences. Some subjects will be commented, for example: the importance of this stage of the therapeutical process, the attitude and the preparation of the therapist, beyond itens related to the development of the first interview properly said, as its duration, cares with the language in this first contact, some points of the history of the client that can be explored at this moment, the establishment of the value of the interview and relevant aspects to make a therapeutic contract. Its important to stand out that this article does not intend to propose a rigid or unique model for the development of the first interview in psycotherapy, therefore each meeting with a client is singular.
