The text we here propose is not a scientific article. It is based on our clinical experience of therapeutic accompaniment with patients who adjust themselves psychotically and aimed, as well, at presenting initial reflections on a possible reading of psychotic adjustments under the light of the self theory and of its phenomenological functions described by Perls, Hefferline and Goodman in the work Gestalt Therapy (1951). According to that work, psychosis is a sort of creative adjustment in which the functions of the ego operate on behalf of the supplying of the temporary living experiences background that, spontaneously, the function id could not retain nor articulate as a basis of the contacting process. The gestaltic intervention work we established tried to make sure, to therapeutically accompanied patients, support to the constitution of social bonds necessary to hallucinatory and delirious elaborations, in the form of which these same people tried to fill in and articulate each one his own background of excitements.
