The present article seeks to promote a reflection on the construction of the therapeutic bond in the initial sessions of the process of group therapy, emphasizing the importance of the same for this purpose. Some elements are addressed, among many others, to be observed by the psychologist in this stage of therapeutic work. Subtopics are discussed as: the contract, the therapeutic posture, the therapeutic presence, the phenomenological posture and the valuation of the potential of the client. Finally, in the final considerations, comments are made on the performance of the psychologist in working with groups.
