This article aims to make a small cartography about the concept “Frontier” present in the work of Paul Federn and used by Fritz Perls in the work Ego, Hunger and Agression and later, together with Paul Goodman and Ralph Hefferline, in Gestalt- therapy. In the two Perls works, he makes direct and indirect mentions to Federn who coined the term for the first time in Ego Psychology and the Psychoses. It seeks to discuss how the term was used in these works and what contributions this concept makes to the theoretical-clinical development of Gestalt therapy.
